We'd like to say a very big Happy Birthday to Helena! She's forty-four today (but shh! we didn't tell you that ) and I'm sure everyone would join us in wishing her all the best, and we hope she has a fantastic birthday with family and friends!
I'm not sure whether Helena will pick up the Birthday Book today or wait until she's not so busy celebrating, but hopefully she will see it soon! In the meantime, you can all check out the photos in the gallery. I've just realised that in my haste to get it sent off, I forgot to photograph the opening page and donators list! So, just to let you know, we raised an impressive £245! And we've still go more donations to come, so we'll be almost at £300 once we're done!
I've tried to make the photos small so messages are difficult to read, but if anyone objects to their page being on display, email me and I'll remove it.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the project, I'm sure Helena will love the book!
P.S I've temporarily enabled comments again so that you can leave your birthday messages!
Thanks to KRC posting it in the tagboard, we have a clip from the upcoming Alice in Wonderland's DVD extras! The clip is of Helena's transformation into the Red Queen! It takes a long time! Watch the clip below!
Any donations made to Action Duchenne from now on (other than those who have spoken to me) will not be included in the Birthday Book. I'll be posting pictures on Wednesday! A Very big thank you to everyone who contributed!
Yesterday, Helena was snapped leaving a shop in London, and having a nice rest in the sun! I have managed to find 5 MQ images of her there, and she's looking lovely! If you would like to view them, you can do so below, but make sure to login!
Helena will be starring as Joan Potter in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Toast, the autobiography of food writer Nigel Slater. Helena will be starring alongside her Charlie and the Chocolate Factory co-star, Freddie Highmore, playing his step-mother in the 1960s-set drama.
The film will be broadcast on BBC One at the end of this year. Filming begins in June in the West Midlands.
Jay Hunt, channel controller, said: "Toast is a wonderfully nostalgic drama that will be a real treat for BBC One viewers. This remarkable cast is sure to really bring Nigel Slater's story alive."
Brand new footage from the upcoming Alice in Wonderland DVD has been released! It is a special feature entitled Red Queen Props in which the prop masters and Helena are discussing the Red Queen's scepter, croquet mallet and spectacles. Watch the fantastic clip below!
Bella Lestrange posted a link to a website with 10 MQ stills from a deleted scene from Terminator Salvation on Helena World. I've not seen the film myself yet, so I don't know what differences there are. I've also added another piece of concept art to the gallery.
A while ago we announced that Helena was one of many who had been nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain for her performance as the Red Queen in Tim's incredible film, Alice in Wonderland, and thanks to all your voting she's down to the final five! Alice in Wonderland is also nominated for the Best Movie award! You can vote for that here. So everyone needs to make sure to keep voting for Helena now, and she could just win it! She's against:
Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds Ken Jeong for The Hangover Stephen Lang for Avatar Tom Felton for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
In a recent interview with MTV, Helena's Harry Potter co-star had a lovely little thing to say about Helena. She's his idol! Check out the quote below, and read the full thing here!
And then there's Helena Bonham Carter, his 'Harry Potter' co-star and now his MTV Movie Awards adversary. "Never my competition she's my idol," Felton said. "I've learned more off her than anyone else." Sure you don't want to talk a little smack? "Of course! I'm putting a friendly face on it, but on the night, it's all game," Felton said. "Each dog for his own."
Helena has been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Leading Actress for her role in Enid! She is up against Harry Potter co-star Julie Walters, who is nominated twice for her performances in A Short Stay In Switzerland and Mo, as well as actress Sophie Okonedo for her performance in Mrs. Mandela.
We wish luck to everyone nominated, but we hope Helena wins!
