Helena Nominated For An Oscar!

HOORAY! Helena has been nominated for her second Oscar! The King’s Speech is the most nominated film of the year, and has been nominated for an impressive twelve Oscars, with Helena up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She will be up against the likes of Amy Adams and Melissa Leo. The nominees are as follows:

Amy Adams, The Fighter
Helena Bonham Carter, The King’s Speech
Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit
Melissa Leo, The Fighter
Jacki Weaver, Animal Kingdom

Other nominations for The King’s Speech are:

Best Picture
Best Actor in a Leading Role
Best Actor in a Supporting Role
Best Director
Best Original Screenplay
Best Editing
Best Art Design
Best Costume Design
Best Sound Mixing
Best Original Score
Best Cinematography

In addition to The King’s Speech, three other films that Helena has appeared in have been nominated for awards! They are: Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and The Gruffalo.

Colin Firth is the favourite to win the Academy Award this year, and it will be very well deserved in my opinion and I  hope that Geoffrey Rush will win in his category, too. Currently, the media have no firm favourite for Best Supporting Actress, but fingers crossed that it will be Helena! Good luck to everyone!
