New design!

As you can see, we have a new website design! The header image is a photograph taken by Jonty Davies for Red Magazine.

Introducing the press archive

Eagle-eyed  visitors will have noticed that there’s a new link on our menu that takes you to our Press Archive. While it is, at present, looking a little sparse, our aim is to gather as many articles and interviews as possible spanning Helena’s thirty-year career.

New Layout

Well, it is long overdue, but we finally have a new layout! Still a few bits need tweaking, but it is quite refreshing to have a new design!

‘Refuge’ dedicated page

RefugeI am working to update the individual pages for the various charities that Helena supports and campaigns for. The first one to be given a ‘make-over’ is Refuge. Helena has been a supporter of the charity since the age of seventeen and is now a patron along with Sir Patrick Stewart and Dame Helen Mirren, among others. You may recall Helena fronting their Care or Control? campaign in 2010. You can view the new-and-improved page here.

New Layout!

We finally have a new layout design! Woo hoo! The old one has been up for so long it was getting embarrassing, but now we have a lovely, summer-themed layout! There are still a few things I need to adjust and fix, but I didn’t want to keep the site in maintenance mode for too long. Hope it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. Enjoy!

Problem with email

It has come to our attention that we have a problem with our main email account (staff[at]mrs-lovett.org); we are unable to send or receive emails. We are working on resolving the problem, but in the meantime, please contact either myself or Jamie directly (change ‘staff’ to our name).

Apologies if you have sent us an email recently and we have not replied – we’re not ignoring you, we just haven’t received it!

A notice about candids

You may have noticed that the frequency of candid-photo additions has decreased in recent months – the reason for this is that myself and Jamie have been thinking about stopping candid photos on this site. After a lot of careful consideration, we have come to the decision that we will no longer be adding paparazzi photos of Helena going about her daily life. We have never been entirely comfortable with this invasion of her privacy (and that of her family) and now that her children are that bit older, we do not think it would be appropriate to continue. We have also decided to remove all of the candids from the gallery, which we will be doing this week.

We hope that you will be understand why we have come to this conclusion 🙂 But don’t worry, we will continue to cover public appearances, photoshoots etc. Edit: where appropriate, some candids may be moved to the public appearances section – for example, signing autographs at events.

Gallery Problem

There are some serious problems with the gallery at the moment, for reasons unknown. A lot of users – including myself – are getting a message to say that they are currently banned from the site. I can assure you that this is not the case, and I am working on resolving the issue.

Email Issues

We are experiencing difficulties with our email accounts at the moment, with 90% of all our outgoing emails being rejected. This means that we’re unable to reply to emails, and some emails that we thought had been delivered successfully were bounced back without our knowledge.

Basically, if you have not received a reply from us, we’re not ignoring you! We can try and respond to your emails in a number of ways – the chatbox for short queries, our Tumblr account, our Facebook page or in the comments of this post.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we were working to resolve this issue.

Gallery Error – FIXED

I have woken up this morning to find that there is some sort of serious problem with the gallery, and I have no idea what is wrong with it! I guess I got overloaded by the recent surge in Helena awesome-ness. I’ll try and get it fixed as quickly as possible, apologies for the inconvenience.

Well, it was more simple than I thought. The gallery appears to be fixed now, but I shall keep an eye on it and try and determine what caused this problem.
