Helena has narrated a film entitled Saying Goodbye for this year’s Children In Need.
Saying Goodbye features the stories of a group of children and young people in the UK dealing with the terminal illness or death of a parent.
The King’s Speech actress said: “It’s a privilege to be able to be involved with such a heart-rending film which shares such honest and important stories from children and young people as they cope with death of a parent or are facing this possibility.
“I hope this film strikes a chord with people across the UK and encourages them to donate to BBC Children In Need to enable the charity to continue to support children and young people who need it most.”
Sorry I wasn’t around yesterday for the premiere – I was climbing a mountain! Anyway, I have added a bunch of photos of Helena attending the world premiere of 55 Steps at the Toronto International Film Festival last night. She looks absolutely fabulous in a Dolce & Gabbana floral dress, teamed with a cute D&G clutch.
I’m so sorry for neglecting the site recently! I am in the process of adding lots and lots of pictures of Helena looking fabulous on the set of Ocean’s Eight with co-stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Rihanna. Also spotted on location was Mindy Kaling, who was previously confirmed as appearing in the film, as well as Sarah Paulson and Dakota Fanning who look to have joined the cast as well!
Many of you will have seen the recent candid photographs of Helena out and about in New York (sporting newly blonde hair with what looks like a pinkish tint), but if you haven’t…Helena is currently in New York! And the reason she’s in New York is because filming for Ocean’s Eight has begun. Hopefully we’ll get some more details about Helena’s role soon!
I’m having another rummage through my extensive magazine collection, and uploading scans to the gallery! Most of today’s new additions are recent press articles for Love, Nina (see below), but there’s also a vintage gem from 1986 in there!
Jezebel reports that Helena is set to star in a new television mini-series based on Jami Attenberg‘s novel, Saint Mazie. Interestingly, Helena will also be producing the series, along with Suffragette producer, Faye Ward.
Helena will play Mazie Gordon-Phillips, who Attenberg described as a “deeply flawed, self-indulgent, extremely boozy” woman who had “quite a mouth on her.”
In a statement to Deadline, Faye Ward said:
“Our story unveils a woman in the middle of her life, a local legend who lifted the spirit of a community and yet barely moved beyond the perimeter of two square miles. She was in love with the streets and the people, she saw beauty in the dirt. It is exciting to think of Helena on screen oozing the spirit of this courageous woman. [Writer Clara Brennan’s] witty and political voice is perfect for Mazie and her world.”
Exciting news! Helena has reportedly been cast in an all-female spin-off of Ocean’s Eleven. Sandra Bullock is will be taking on the lead role as the sister of Danny Ocean, while Helena’s Cinderella co-star, Cate Blanchett will play the second lead akin to Brad Pitt’s character, Rusty. George Clooney, who played the role of Danny Ocean in the original films, is set to be a producer on the new film, which has a working title of Ocean’s Ocho. Star of The Mindy Project, Mindy Kaling and The Hunger Games actress, Elizabeth Banks have also signed up, while Jennifer Lawrence is rumored to be interested in the project.
The Hunger Games director, Gary Ross will be teaming up with the original director of Ocean’s Eleven, Steven Soderbergh. Continuing the female lead, Olivia Milch is credited at a writer on the film’s IMDb page. According to The Independent, the film’s premise will see the all-female collective team up in order to steal a necklace from the Met Ball so they can frame a villainous gallery owner.
