First photo from ‘Love, Nina’

Late to the party, I know, but here is the first proper look at the BBC mini-series Love, Nina.

Rick McGinnis Portraits

Photographer Rick McGinnis has shared more portraits of Helena on his website. Last year, McGinnis wrote a blog post about his experience of photographing Helena in Tonoronto in January 1996, which included previously unseen outtakes of a photo session for Now Magazine. He recently wrote about the rediscovery of some old negatives from the same session, and share them in this blog post.

As I recalled in my previous post, this was one of my favorite shoots from my time at NOW magazine, because my subject – a notorious eccentric – responded to my camera with a real performance, a tiny woman in baggy clothes, running through a gamut of expressions while sunk in the depths of an enormous hotel chair. Gallery Updates

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the lack of updates recently! I have been very busy with a new job, and looking after poorly pets. Jamie is currently unavailable, so I am running the site alone.

Last night, Helena attended a special screening of Sir David Attenborough’s new series, Great Barrier Reef, with her son, Billy. I have added 6 HQ pictures to the gallery.

I have also added an additional 10 HQ images of Helena attending the annual Winter Gala for Save the Children.

Going back a bit further now, I have added 22 HQ pictures of Helena at Wahaca’s Day of the Dead Festival in November.

Save the Children Winter Gala

Last night, Helena attended the Save the Children Winter Gala with her friend, Ali Esiri.

‘Suffragette’ Premiere at the BFI Festival

Sorry these are so late – I’ve been very busy at work! Helena attended the London premiere of Suffragette last night, held in Leicester Square as part of the BFI London Film Festival. Helena wore vintage Pierre Balmain from WilliamVintage. I have added 84 HQ images to the gallery; thank you to Lindsay for her contributions.

‘Suffragette’ Stills

I have added some more stills from Suffragette, which will be released 12th October 2015 in the UK. I have also added another HQ shot by Brigitte Lacombe that wasn’t in the gallery.

More from the Tatler shoot

Lorenzo Agius has shared another shot of Helena as Frida Kahlo on his official instagram. Helena’s make-up artist and long-time friend, Louise Constad, also shared photos on her blog and instagram page.

‘London’s Burning’ Book

Helena’s friend Azzi Glasser has shared this photo on instagram of herself and Helena, featured in a book called London’s Burning, which launches tomorrow. The photograph is by Katie Martin. I may be wrong, but I do recall Helena mentioning that she has a traditional Gypsy wagon in her garden for Nell, so I’m wondering if this is it!

Details from the publisher’s website describe the book as a collection of portraits from a creative city. The author is Hossein Amirsadeghi, and the book is available for pre-order on Amazon at the price of £58.00, and will be released 19th October 2015.
