Helena attended a reception to celebrate the 25th anniversary of BBC Films, last night! Also in attendance were on-screen sister, Helen McCrory and her husband, Damian Lewis, and Elementary actress, Ophelia Lovibond. Helena is photographed with Burton & Taylor director, Richard Laxton. Helena wore ‘Honey’ embroidery print top (£140) from HIGH by Claire Campbell, with shoes by Stella McCartney.
HBO has ordered a limited series of Codes of Conduct, which will have an initial six-episode run. If the series does well, additional episodes may be ordered. Currently all we know about Helena’s character is that she is a Manhattan author and psychiatrist called Esther Kaufmann, and is a divorced mother of two grown boys. Ester is described as “doing well on her own, until she comes across Snow (Devon Terrell)”. It is not known how many of the six episodes, directed by Steve McQueen, Helena will appear in.
Codes of Conduct centres on a young African-American man with a mysterious past, who emerges on the scene in New York high society. - The Hollywood Reporter
Helena looks absolutely magical at the UK premiere of Cinderella in Leicester Square this evening! I will continue to add pictures as and when I get them. Remember to keep checking out our Tumblr and Twitter pages! A massive thank you to Far, Far Away Site for their contribution! Also, thank you to Bittersweet Bonham Carter for some HQs.
The UK premiere of Disney‘s Cinderella will be held in Leicester Square this evening. Helena is expected to attend along with co-stars Lily James, Richard Madden, Sophie McShera and Holliday Granger, as well as the film’s director, Sir Kenneth Branagh. Other stars expected to attend include members of the Downton Abbey cast, Billie Piper, and her husband, Laurence Fox.
I have added two MQ pictures of Helena on the set of Cinderella, published by The Telegraph.
Kenneth Branagh: Helena Bonham Carter plays a deliciously ditzy and well-meaning fairy godmother who seems not necessarily to be in perfect control of her powers. We see here that look of slight apprehension. Helena wanted a touch of the yummy mummy and talked about Mae West and Marilyn Monroe. She was also very keen to have wings. Sandy was a little anti-wing to begin with, but came around. Her dress was lit from the inside – there’s a whole disco rig underneath there – and we had guys following her with a battery, so it would light up when she lifted her wand. We had real and CGI pumpkins, plus a huge inflatable one. This is made from polystyrene and the sculptors inserted a weight because we wanted it to have the weight of a real pumpkin.
Helena hosted another themed bash in aid of Save the Children; Helena was joined by Burton and Taylor co-star, Dominic West for ‘A Night of Disco‘ at The Roundhouse in London. Helena’s mother, Elena also joined her for the event. I have added 16 MQ pictures to the gallery, which will hopefully be replaced with HQs later today! Edit: we’ve got 8 HQ pictures so far! We now have 25 HQ pictures. Enjoy!
